A Hereford Beefstouw on Bispetorv in Århus is one of the smallest and most intimate restaurants in the chain. Framed by Århus Theatre, the Cathedral and the honorable Cathedral School, the restaurant is situated exclusively with an open view of one of the most beautiful squares in the city. The restaurant’s atmosphere is homelike and cozy, due to its small size. The guests are seated close to each other, but the interior design of the room ensures that guests do not feel crowded. "In such a small restaurant it is of vital importance that the staff members get along well and enjoy their job, because the good spirit amongst the waiters and the chefs instantly radiates to the rest of the restaurant," says restaurant manager Gert Hansen.
The famous Danish artist, Sven Dalsgaard has designed the restaurant’s colourful interior, while several of the paintings also bear his signature. Peter Stuhr, a former student of Dalsgaard at the Academy of Art, has decorated the small restrooms. Today they are a small experience in themselves.
The restaurant, opened in 1982, has room for 49 dining guests.
